Opened in 2005 in the heart of Jersey City, Honshu specializes in contemporary Japanese dishes. Paired with unparalleled service, Honshu proudly serves a wide range of fresh sushi and Japanese creative dishes to guarantee an exceptional experience. The modern yet warm interior is decorated with the simple elegance that combined with traditional Japanese design creates a comfortable and inviting ambiance. Since his arrival in NYC in 1998, our Executive Sushi Chef Jason Chen has been working at different Japanese restaurants building up his resume. As the owner and Executive Chef of Honshu Sushi and Noodle Lounge, Jason cooks up innovative, modern, vibrant, and flavorful dishes.
If you’ve visited our restaurant before, you know that we do not have space for a freezer. It does not matter rain or snow, our fish delivery must arrive every day. We love clean, fresh food. Each day our fish comes directly from the local fishmongers to be served on your plate. We moved a block away from 31 Montgomery Street to 95 Greene Street. We are now serving full-alcohol and are no longer BYOB. What’s new? Plenty. We are focusing on creating new fusion dishes, making rolls from non-sushi-rice, and creating unique appetizers. Our bartender works together with our certified sake adviser to make better experiences of sake, wine, and cocktails.
