Crossing the Hudson, the 2024 Sculptors Guild Members Show.
The phrase Crossing the Hudson evokes movement in travel eastward and westward for myriad purposes, whether commuting to work, getting away for the weekend, relocating with belongings in tow through a tunnel or over a bridge, or jumping on a ferry with relatives visiting from abroad, and on and on…
Art has also been a driving force for people to make the journey across the river. Artists have ventured into alternate scenes in search of opportunities, driven toward the possibilities of reaching new audiences who bring fresh perspectives of their work. Art lovers seek out the inspiration that comes from discovery and setting forth into unknown territory.
The exhibition of the work executed by members of the NYC Sculptors Guild in the show entitled Crossing The Hudson is meant to draw upon the myriad motivations that compel people to leave the comfort of their neighborhoods to see what lies beyond the banks of the Hudson.
