Curatorial Talks: Owen Duffy with Jillian Mayer and Jonathan Monaghan
May 7, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Part of the Meeting at a Distance series
Jillian Mayer’s work explores how technology affects our lives, bodies, and identities; and probes into points of tension between our digital and physical existence. Jonathan Monaghan creates fantastical, digital worlds that draw from visual sources found in art history, architecture, and science fiction to uncover subconscious anxieties associated with technology and consumerism.
As the world shifts ever more online and we grapple with increasingly surreal realities, curator and gallery director, Owen Duffy, moderates a discussion with Mayer and Monaghan that draws from their work and reflects on our current world, with a look toward the future.
