Echoes From Ellis Island: Tales from the Ward

October 15 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 pm

Join us for a special 45-minute guided tour to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the reopening of the south side.

For 60 years, Ellis Island’s South Side lay abandoned and forbidden. But on October 1, 2014, Save Ellis Island reopened the historic hospital complex to the public with the launch of our Hard Hat Tours. This October, in celebration of our 10-year anniversary, we’re unleashing a new spine-tingling tour—one you won’t want to miss.

Join us in the “Autopsy Amphitheater”, for a 45-minute storytelling experience that invites you to explore the rich tapestry of human stories that shaped one of America’s most iconic landmarks. Opened in 1902, the Ellis Island Hospital Complex was one of the largest public health undertakings in United States history. Walk the shadowy corridors of the Contagious Diseases Hospital, step into the eerie stillness of the Morgue, and discover the powerful narratives of those who passed through this place of heartbreak, hope, and recovery.

Dare to explore the echoes of the past this October and experience the legacy of Ellis Island like never before!

Please note: Attendees need to purchase their own ferry tickets. Ferry Tickets are sold separately on Statue City Cruises’ websiteunder ticket option, select: General AdmissionPlease purchase tickets for the 9 am ferry. Arrive at least one hour earlier for security check.
