Big Events to Look Out for in Hudson County

Hudson County is full of fabulous events year-round, but summer is an especially fun and festive time of year. From large, citywide festivals to parades, art exhibits and food extravaganzas, Hudson County is bursting with unique events and entertainment for the entire family.

Jersey City 4th of July Festival | Thursday, July 4th

Montgomery Street at Exchange Place, Jersey City

What better way to celebrate the most patriotic day of the year than with delicious street eats and a dazzling display of fireworks over the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline? Don your favorite red, white, and blue and head down to the annual Jersey City 4th of July street festival. Expect food, fun, and, of course, the world famous Grucci Fireworks.

 

Jersey City Night Market | July 20th, August 17th, September 21st

136 Magnolia Landing, Jersey City & 179 Montgomery Street, Jersey City

Join us in Jersey City, as we celebrate local artists, artisans, and small businesses while we eat, shop, dance, and relax. The event is free, family-friendly, and pet-friendly, and it will take place rain or shine.

 

St Ann’s Feast Italian Festival | July 24th – 28th

704 Jefferson Street, Hoboken

Get ready for famous zeppole, cheesesteaks, rice balls, wood-fired pizza, fried calamari, and seafood salad, etc. There will also be live music, a beer garden and more summer activities to enjoy!

 

 

 

La Festa Italiana | August 7th – 11th

344 Sixth Street, Jersey City

For five days people of all walks of life migrate to this normally quiet section of downtown Jersey City to sample mouth water foods, grab a beer or cocktail, a couple glasses of Wine and Peaches and Listen to Live Entertainment on the Bandstand. Don’t miss all the fun!

 

One Big Food Fest | August 17th

Jersey City LGBTQ+ Pride Festival | Saturday, August 24th

Newark Ave between Grove Street an Jersey Ave and Grove Street PATH Plaza, Jersey City

Celebrate diversity at the 23rd annual Jersey City LGBTQ+ Pride Festival. Live performances, parties, food, and fun are to be had for everyone at this colorful, inclusive, and family-friendly event.

JC Fridays | Friday, September 13

Various locations, Jersey City

Jersey City’s quarterly arts festival, JC Fridays, returns on Friday, September 13th. Tour galleries, businesses, event venues, and art-related spaces across Jersey City that are showcasing a tremendous variety of art. Look over the online map to see what’s offered, as you’ll find loads of studio spaces and exhibits in and around downtown JC and just about all the way to Bayonne, and its converted indoor-outdoor shed, Project Greenville.

 

All About Downtown | Saturday, September 21

Newark Avenue, between Grove Street and Coles Street, Jersey City

This September street fair started in 2011 with over 100 vendors selling food, art, jewelry, candles and crafts. All About Downtown continues to delight over 30,000 attendees each year and 2024 is expected to be the best year yet – with vendors, food, kids rides, face painting, live music, beer gardens, and more.

 

Jersey City Art and Studio Tour | October 4-6

Various locations, Jersey City

The Jersey City Art and Studio Tour (JCAST), one of the largest in the area, returns for four days of fun the first weekend of October. In its 35th year, this is the perfect place for friends, families, couples, or solo art appreciators. Spend some time reviewing the JCAST Festival Map in advance so you can see as much as possible, including woodworking workshops, sculpture studios, painting exhibits, photography, and interactive art events. And be sure to come hungry, as you’ll also encounter excellent food all along the way.
