Jersey City Theater Center (JCTC) is a nonprofit arts organization and manages programming at Merseles Studios and White Eagle Hall. We are committed to inspiring conversations about the important topics of our times through innovative and progressive performing and visual arts that embrace the diversity of Jersey City, bringing its community closer together and enhancing its quality of life.
JCTC’s season runs from September to June—and while we present a range of shows – the core of each season are three separate thematic series. JCTC selects topics global in scope yet relevant to the community then explores that theme using visual arts, theater, dance, monologues, and other performances. By using a diverse range of art-forms and genres – as well as artists – the theme of the series gets comprehensively examined, fomenting an atmosphere of discussion and exchange of ideas. Most events include a Talk-Back, where audiences and artists can discuss and ask each other questions, forming a basis for an enriching dialogue between artists and community.
